Adventures!
This month finds me on an adventure, and my next Clare Instalove romance will release while I’m away.
You might guess the general region from the photos below, but you’ve probably never heard of the island unless you’re a New Zealander.
Campbell Island is one of New Zealand’s subAntarctic islands and one that very few of us get to visit. When we arrived yesterday, the swells for too large for us to land on the island, but we made the most of it and did a zodiac ride along the coast. The photos show an albatross colony, and the fluffy ones are the chicks. The penguin is an erect-crested penguin and a rare sighting. We saw three or four of these, and our guides thought they were males and younger penguins taking a rest after a fishing excursion since this is not their usual territory.
One of the things that disappointed me most about not landing was missing the flora, which is, according to everything I’ve read, amazing. I was thrilled to sight some of the Campbell Island daisies from the water, and hubby snapped some excellent photos. You can see the leaves and flowers clearly. Just imagine a hillside of these daisies. Maybe one day, I’ll get to see them.
We are currently sailing to the Ross Sea area. It’s a long way, and we’re on day one of our epic sail. The seas aren’t too bad, and I hope we don’t run into many storms. The next round of photos should be full of penguins and ice.
Badge of Redemption is out on 1 February 2023. In this book, you’ll meet the mystery man with the prison record, and you’ll also get glimpses of Connor and Milly, and Jarrod and Chrissie, too.
Here’s the blurb:
Don’t let the past dominate your future.
Victoria
I’ve been a single mom since my marriage imploded. My husband went to work and never returned, leaving me to raise our son. A surprise visit leaves me reeling—the truth is a terrible shock that changes everything. Now money problems are forcing me outside my comfort zone—to take a risk and pray I don’t lose everything.
Niko
When I was younger, I trusted the wrong people—a stupid mistake since it landed me with a criminal record. My cousin’s friends have offered me a second chance, and while there are challenges, I’m grateful for the opportunity. My path shifts again after a fortuitous meeting with a gorgeous curvy woman and her son. I’m wary because I refuse to be a notch on any woman’s belt, but Victoria is sweet, genuine, and in need of help.
The widow and the biker—perhaps two misfits can become stronger together.
Contains a big-hearted biker with a reputation, a young widow with a child, and lots of small-town shenanigans and gossip, plus some instalove which makes everything better.
I’m hoping to post a short excerpt before release day, but I can’t promise anything because we have to rely on satellites to get internet service. Sometimes the wifi signal is excellent, and on other days it crawls slowly like a caterpillar.
Talk to you soon.
